Tenterfield is fast becoming one of regional Australia’s must-ride destinations — and for good reason. With quiet country roads, wild granite backdrops, and the game-changing Angry Bull Trails development, there’s something here for every kind of rider.
Whether you're chasing an early morning send, a weekend gravel grind, or a multi-day bikepacking epic, Tenterfield Shire delivers. Ride through World Heritage wilderness, wind past rock monoliths and wild rivers, and feel the open space roll out around you.
When the ride’s done, kick back in classic country style. You’ll find hot showers, cold beers, cosy pubs, motels, B&Bs, and great coffee across Tenterfield and our surrounding villages. Add in a bit of boutique shopping, arts, crafts and local character, and you’ve got the perfect post-ride wind-down. Come for the ride. Stay for the vibe.
Angry Bull Trails is a game-changer for mountain biking in Tenterfield — a bold new trail network designed for adventure, access, and serious fun on two wheels. When complete, it’ll feature 170km of purpose-built trails, weaving through granite country and remote bushland.
From flowy mountain descents and cross-country loops to backcountry tracks that push your limits, there’s something here for every rider. A brand-new Trail Centre in the heart of Tenterfield will serve as the hub for it all — rides, info, gear, and good vibes.
Importantly, 60% of the network will be accessible for adaptive riders. Trails opening June 2026.
Discover a hand-picked mix of day rides and multi-day bikepacking routes that showcase the best of Tenterfield Shire — from rolling gravel backroads to wild, high-country trails that’ll steal your breath (in the best way).
