The Range Rumble is a big day out in granite country - 91km of remote gravel, National Park backroads and serious climbing.
Expect epic climbs, fast descents, creek crossings and rough sections that demand focus and fitness. This course rewards preparation - and delivers some of the best scenery in the region.
It’s tough, no doubt. But it’s the kind of ride you’ll be talking about over a beer at the finish line.
Starting from the Tenterfield Showgrounds, you roll through town before heading north into Leeches Gully Road, with its rolling hills and wide-open views.
The adventure begins once the bitumen ends. Gravel roads through Basket Swamp National Park take you into forested sections, creek crossings and technical fire trails that require steady handling and smart pacing.
Climbing through Boonoo Boonoo National Park, you’ll experience long sustained ascents and sweeping descents, with granite formations and big skies all around. Keep an eye out for the rare Glossy Black Cockatoo along the way.
There are sections that are rough and rutted, and fast gravel descents that demand respect. Ride within your limits, stay aware of open-road conditions - and enjoy the reward of completing one of the region’s most iconic gravel courses.
The Range Rumble is for riders who enjoy a serious endurance challenge and aren’t afraid of a big day in the saddle.
It’s suited to:
If you’re well-prepared, paced sensibly and ready for remote terrain, this course will reward you.
